Terms and Conditions
Last updated October 2026. Plain words first, details below.
1. Free software, paid service
The Kastrava browser's source code is free and open source under the GPLv3 license. You may use, study, change and share the code under those terms, forever, at no charge.
What you pay for is the Premium service layer, not the code:
- Premium cloud accounts — login, encrypted sync storage, device management, family sharing and security log.
- Infrastructure usage — the license server, sync storage and account emails that make Premium work across devices.
- Verified builds — the signed, tested installers published on this site and in app stores.
2. Premium keys
- One key works on up to 10 devices on the same account. Keys may be lent to family through the dashboard's sharing feature.
- Monthly (30 days) and Daily (24 hours) plans are manual-renew only — nothing ever auto-charges. A key stops working at expiry until renewed; renewing extends the same key.
- Keys are bound to your account. Do not publish keys publicly; abused keys (fraud, chargeback abuse, hammering the license API) may be revoked. See the Refund Policy for money-back rules.
3. Store items
- The store sells data-only cosmetics (theme color maps, accent palettes, logo images, wallpaper photos, cursor colors, bundles). Nothing sold runs code on your machine.
- Items are bound to your account, work on every logged-in device, and install only inside the Kastrava browser. Catalog browsing is free; installing needs a login.
- Paid items are delivered instantly on payment; the Full Catalogue Pass unlocks everything for 30 days, manual renewal only. See the Refund Policy for digital-item refunds.
4. Acceptable use
- Use the browser and the service lawfully. Do not use accounts, keys or the license API for fraud, spam, phishing, or attacks on the infrastructure.
- Because the code is GPLv3, modified versions you distribute must also stay GPLv3 and must not present themselves as official Kastrava builds.
- We may suspend accounts or revoke keys that abuse the service, with or without notice for active fraud.
5. Availability and liability
The service runs on a best-effort basis. Sync, licensing and email delivery can have downtime; the browser itself keeps working offline regardless. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kastrava is not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including loss of synced data (keep your own backups of anything irreplaceable).
6. Changes and contact
These terms can change; the version on this page always applies. Continued use after a change means acceptance. Questions or disputes: contact us first — most issues are solved with one email.
